Captain’s Blog May 10, 2011 (Day 4) Oak Grove, Missouri

We woke this morning to very muggy 75 degree weather. The projected temp for the day is 93. Wow, what a change in such a short time.

We are both tired and hot so not looking forward to another long driving day. This is so unlike the both of us. Ron ‘s stamina is at an all time low as is his mood (mostly due to his ongoing treatment) but also the result of pushing too hard to make up the travel days we lost.

As the day progressed it got hotter and hotter and the MH  dash AC couldn’t keep up with the greenhouse effect from the hot sun and the huge windshield.

We looked at each other and said lets throw in the towel and get a CG site. Just happened to be one five minutes from us so we secured a site at the KOA.

We met a very nice lady who was traveling in her MH with her dog. She was parked right next to us and pretty much told us her entire life story. I give her a lot of credit for traveling the country alone and driving that big MH as well.

It was the best thing we could have done. We cooled off nicely  and had a very good home cooked meal.

Tomorrow it is suppose to be equally as hot but feeling refreshed should help get us through the next 676 miles.
