Captain’s Blog June17, 2011 ( Day 42) Franklin Falls–Snoqualmie Pass

After some discussion and spending time with Megan we opted to take a ride to Snoqualmie Pass and hike to Franklin Falls. Megan was unable to come with us because she is a working girl. The sun was shining and the weather very nice– so a perfect day for a hike.

Kelly and Patrick have been there before and promised that we would not be disappointed. It was a two-mile RT hike with a moderate rise in elevation. We were able to stop along the way and take in the sheer beauty of our surroundings. Luckily it was a dog friendly trail so Jewel happily joined us.

Next it was on to Denny Creek another amazing spot. The Northwest is quite beautiful and green but it really does rain too much.

As we walked along the trail we spotted several cabins above the creek bed. What a great spot and not too far from civilization either.

Our Dream Location for a Cabin

Jewel had a great time but her white coat was absolutely black from the mud and melting snow so we had to improvise a shower for her.

Jewel is not very Happy!!!!!

Jewel spent some time posing for the camera and looked much better.image

All of us  slept well after spending the day in the mountain fresh air.
