We were up and out the door by 8AM looking forward to our tour of Cliff Palace. Our tour was scheduled for 10 AM and the estimated travel time we were told was 90 minutes. The road was pretty empty so we were a little early. Better early then late.
Getting to Cliff Palace required descending uneven stones and climbing five ladders for 100 feet. The entrance trail was pretty steep – not surprising since each dwelling is perched on a cliff.

After completing the tour we drove one of the loops and stopped at the overlooks to check out the cliff houses we couldn’t get to.
